Mark 10:46-50

46 Now they (Jesus and His Disciples) came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging.

47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

48 Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

49 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.”

50 And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus.

First: Bartimeaus heard that Jesus was passing by.

Second: He began to cry out to Jesus from where he was.

Third: His friends told him to ‘shut up.’

Forth: Bartimeus hollered all the louder!

Fifth: He didn’t ask to be healed—he asked for mercy.

Sixth: He knew in his heart who Jesus was—the promised Messiah, the Son of David.

Seventh: Jesus called; Bartimeus obeyed.

Eighth: Bartimeus responded immediately. He rose and went to Jesus in response His Call. (Even though he couldn’t see and there were crowds blocking his way.)

Ninth: Bartimeus told Jesus exactly what he wanted from him.

Tenth: He got what he asked for!

It is said that there are only three answers to prayer. Yes, no or wait.

No matter what the time-frame, when we pray in Jesus name, our prayer is answered!
