LITTLE BOXES
.
“Little Boxes” is a song written and composed by Malvina Reynolds in 1962. The song was first released by her friend, Pete Seeger, in 1963, and became his only charting single in January 1964. The song is a social satire about the development of suburbia, and associated conformist middle-class attitudes.
It sure is a catchy tune!

The Canadian band, Walk Off The Earth added an exceptionally creative touch as a backdrop for the original tune. Their acoustic instruments are terrific!
The simplicity of the rhythm and the instrumental accompaniment is something I quite enjoy. I am amazed at all the planning and work that must have gone in to the making of this song.
‘Little Boxes’ is a classic. And it is still one of my favorite go-to YouTube videos when I need some ‘tune’ therapy!

Well done ‘lads and lassie!’
