VAL’S VIDEOS

.

I had fun making these short clips. For me, they are a reminder of times past, which of course seems like yesterday. Most were made in 2014-2015 shortly before my husband and I retired to Manitoba.

BONNECHERE RIVER FIRE TRUCK SERVICING STATION
AUGUST, 2014

My car was parked on the other side of the Bonnechere River from where these pictures were taken on Augsburg Road. I was heading back when I turned and looked once more toward the fire truck. I was glad I did. The light made that last photo ‘picture perfect.’ The firemen were flushing the hoses before putting them away. It was an unexpected bonus to my picture taking expedition on that lovely, late summer evening in August, 2014.

MAPLE SUGAR FIDDLE TUNE
By The ‘DOUGLAS CONNECTION
August 2014

This was my first attempt at making a video with my new cell phone. It took about a minute and a bit before I decided to pan around the perimeter of the park. There was a young gal step-dancing on the side of the hill. There were many friendly people also enjoying their view of Bandstand. What a lovely evening we had!

Eganville has a “Music in the Park” program throughout the summer. Each week features different musicians and music styles.

On this lovely summer evening, the music was by Ralph Selle and his band, ‘The Douglas Connection.’ The tune they are playing is ‘Maple Sugar’ by Canadian composer, WARD ALLEN.

The fiddle tune ‘Maple Sugar’ is a ‘Valley’ favorite and all time audience pleaser!

VICTORIA BEACH, COBOURG ONTARIO 2014

Cobourg Ontario was my choice for retirement as we were seeking to leave our little country cottage home near Eganville to move closer to the services and amenities that we were starting to need. I visited Cobourg in 2014 to check it out, and absolutely loved it. But the Lord had other plans for us. We moved to Steinbach, Manitoba and are truly blessed to be here!

These pictures were taken in the middle of September, 2014. It was one of the hottest days in September on record to date. But what a beautiful day it was to explore Victoria Beach and other parts of this charming Eastern Ontario city. Everyone was was friendly and co-operative in letting me take pictures.

And yes, I did play the lovely ‘Fox’ Piano. Kudo’s to the artist!
